Your Membership Matters
Members are the heroes at the heart of our watershed protection efforts. When you become a member by making a donation, you play a critical role in keeping the water clean and healthy. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Glen Lake Association depends on membership donations from businesses and individuals to cover the cost of essential watershed protection programs.
Here are just a few of the recent “wins” made possible last year by our members:
- 4217 boats were inspected at the Little Glen public boat launch
- 14 incidences of Eurasian Watermilfoil were removed from those boats
- 19 shoreline and stream bank consultations were conducted
- 26 newsletters were produced to inform the community about current watershed happenings
- 1659 water samples were taken and tested by Association volunteers
- 10 Discovery Boat tours were led by our watershed scientist
- 1 International water quality symposium was hosted by the Glen Lake Association
how can i become a member?
Annual giving to the Glen Lake Association’s General Fund is the easiest and most effective way to become a member and contribute to watershed protection. Your consistent support is key to our ability to address water quality concerns with certainty.
We also invite you to consider an additional donation to one of our designated funds. These funds ensure the long-term sustainability of our water quality programs.
However you choose to support the Glen Lake Association, your generous contribution will help protect the incredible natural resources and quality of life we’ve all come to love.
Business Memberships
We partner with area businesses in order to spread the word about watershed protection. When you become a business member, your company name will be promoted on our website and in our annual report. Q: How long is my membership valid?
A: Memberships expire one year from the date of your last donation. Consider taking advantage of our auto-payment feature to conveniently renew your membership each year.
Q: Are my donations tax deductible?
A: The Glen Lake Association is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. While donations to 501(c)(3) organizations are generally tax-deductible, we recommend that you consult your tax advisor to determine your deduction eligibility.
Q: Can I make a donation via personal check?
A: While donating online is secure and easy, you’re always welcome to mail a check to: PO Box 551, Glen Arbor, MI 49636. Please enclose this completed FORM with your check.
Q: Can I make a donation via wire transfer?
