Chris,
As you may know former GLA president and board member, Sarah Litch, is the chair of Leelanau Clean Water. This goal of this group is to preserve and improve water quality thoughout the county. This group has sent letters to nearly 50 members of Congress who represent constituents throughout the Great Lakes watershed, expressing support for efforts to keep Asian carp out of Lake Michigan. Sarah and husband, Mike who is a current GLA boardmember, have signed the petition on the StopAssianCarp.com website and encourage others to do so. Mike will keep the GLA board informed about this issue.

I don't have time to visit the GLA Website often, so I have a question.

Has the GLA jumped on the "StopAsianCarp.com" wagon? I didn't see the GLA as being listed as a supporter, and there may be a good reason. My fear is that if they are concerned they will get into Lake Michigan, Glen Lake is next. Am I overreacting?

Regards, Chris

Hello Elaine,
I am not sure whether the family rents cottages there any longer. There is a link on our home page to the Glen Lake
Chamber of Commerce where you will find a variety of vacation rental options. I didn't see Dunn's Farm listed.

I thank you for this wonderful web-site and web-cam. It makes the winter more bearable. We are counting the days until we can return to Glen Lake and open the cottage.

Thank you for your comments. I have posted information about lake 'friendly' fertilizer and GLA Shoreline Management Guidelines.

We do provide links to the best social calendars in the area. Click on links of local interest and 'the Leelanau calendar' and the Glen Lake Chamber of Commerce - Calendar/Events.

Former GLA president, Sarah Litch, has given television and radio interviews and we do provide media releases. We are planning a series of educational videos, if funding becomes available.

We agree that GLA could do much more, but we need volunteers to step up to the plate and help. Videographers, video editors, anyone interested in writing articles for posting on the website, and those willing to lend some time to any of the standing committees. Let us know where you can lend your time and skills.
