August Annual Meeting
The Glen Lake Association (GLA) Annual Meeting will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. with three optional breakout sessions followed by the annual meeting at 11 a.m.
The meetings will be held at the Glen Lake Community School, 3375 W. Burdickville Rd., Maple City. Lunch will be provided for all attendees following the meeting.
You are encouraged to bring a friend — particularly someone who has never attended the annual meeting.
Free tree seedlings will be available for attendees. Let’s start replacing our trees decimated by the August 2015 storm.
The three breakout sessions will be:
1. The new and improved Glen Lake Association website
Come learn about how to maneuver through the new website, how to utilize the site to pay your annual dues or make a contribution, view community calendars and the current GLA newsletter and learn how to register for upcoming events.
2. Swimmer’s Itch Update
Come and learn about the latest findings about swimmer’s itch control on Glen Lake. Watershed Biologist Rob Karner will touch on various topics in this session that include current itch research, statewide initiatives, new partners that are active in reducing swimmer’s itch, topical creams, status of neighboring lakes, funding needs, and more. This session will be 45 minutes long and will be a balance of information sharing and answering questions from the audience.
3. Q&As with the sheriff
The county sheriff will be on hand to answer your questions about legal issues around the lake.
Board of Directors
The Nominating Committee has selected three individuals to replace a current board member moving off the board at the end of his term and two board vacancies. The membership will have the opportunity to vote on these additions at the Annual Meeting.
